These quotations are remarkably bright - and werent written by Nietzsche, no, by philosophers of our time! Such as John Lennon or...Jay Z - we all seem to have a lucid intervals from time to time...;) Dont you think Mico Toledo did a great job on the typography stuff?

The Inappropriate Golden Book

Well, I hope you all survived the bankholiday weekend without any harmful zombie attacks and are ready for a short week! I returned from family weekend with half-face burned which looks pretty stupid, but I'll hide behind the office-computer anyways;)

Today, notcot.org drew my attention to Pixar Animation Story Artist Josh Cooley who is recently just finishing a pretty entertaining book showing re-told scenes from movies such as Terminator or The Godfather in a childrens book look. Enjoy the preview!

We all learned in school that we should hide underneath our desks in case of nuclear bombing, but did anyone tell you what to do when zombies invade your city? Movies use to show main characters doing all the wrong things, so: Be prepared and watch What To Do In A Zombie Attack  by Lone Bannana Productions.

Mr Walt Disney in Space!

One can say, before man ventured into space, Walt Disney took the nation there! It of course was made to support The United States space program but we dont want to get too political here: I loved this little trailer! Its featuring Disney's Mars and Beyond science show and made my mouth so watery I had to order the dvd box Walt Disney Treasures - Tomorrowland right from the spot (with amazons international superspeed shipping of course;)! It consists of "Science Factual" shows that aired mostly in the 1950s. Enjoy!

I found this group on Flickr a while ago but re-discovered it on the weekend. The atmosphere of bygone glamour is so sad somehow but it made me click through thousands of pictures! Oh and good news for everyone who felt sorry for the shoe shown above: The Silver Slipper was reanimated and is now flimmering on the median along Las Vegas Boulevard North - thanks god!:)

Mr Burton Promo

I dont think an upcoming searies of Tim Burton movies on television need much promotion, but a dutch on-demand channel did. The outcome is a wonderful handmade promo-spot, done by United fakes, a Barcelona based animation and illustration studio. Below, you can find links to the animated short clip and also, an enlightening making of with a nice soundtrack!

MadMan Yourself!

This is so much fun, you haaaave to try it (oh yeah, thats me on the left:)! And if you havn't, you really have to watch this series! It is set in the 1960s, at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency in NYC. The show centers on Don Draper, creative director and his never ending affairs with alll the pretty ladies on Madison Avenue. Apart from being quite entertaining, its a great source of inspiration in how to dress up for the ladies - and the gentlemen!

OCB Blackthinking

I do not smoke, but still enjoy OCBs way of advertising little semi-translucient papers. Six new illustrations on so called Black Thinking thoughts are available on their packs every quarter! OCB Blackthinking's page is a good way to kill time until lunchbreak: its little universe offers a wallpapergallery, drive in cinema etc. It's a pity they went online while so many catergories still are under construction...

Fighting moody Tuesday!

....with some effin great music and videoclip!
I dont know much about the band "Dead Pirates", but do have more information on the creative mind behind the animated video. McBess alias Matthieu Bessudo is definatly one of the very few illustrators/art directors whose every single piece of work is drop-dead-gorgeous! To understand what I am talking about, you better have a look at his portfolio, or if you're in a rush - just watch the videoclip :)

Robot vs the Atztec Mummy

Isn't the title itself is reason enough to watch this movie? This mexican production from 1958 is about a wicked old doctor who builds a robot (with a human brain!) in order to steal a valuable Aztec treasure from a tomb, guarded by a centuries old "living" mummy.  A horrific battle ensues when the two monsters collide. Honestly, I know it sounds like a B movie but the way they designed the robot with his wobbling antenna melts my heart!
